Meet Josie Hodges, the Director of Culture and Development at Cedar Recovery. Josie is an accomplished and dynamic leader with over 15 years of experience in operations and interior design. Her enthusiasm as a people-focused leader with an unwavering goal of creating an environment where individuals can thrive makes her the heart and soul of Cedar’s culture.  

Josie has been with Cedar since the Spring of 2015. Prior to her current role, she oversaw Cedar operations and has had the privilege of being a part of the development of its mission and vision. With a degree in Organizational Leadership, Josie has seamlessly blended creativity with strategic thinking to drive meaningful change.   

In her current role with Cedar, Josie's primary goal is to cultivate a work environment that attracts and retains top talent by creating a place where people genuinely want to be a part of. This is achieved through the creation of many initiatives including rewards and recognition programs and team-building activities to create connections.   

In addition to that, Josie plays a critical role in overseeing all development and implementation of de novos (new projects or ventures) and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within Cedar Recovery. Her expertise in operations, design, and leadership uniquely positions her to lead these initiatives and ensure their successful integration into the organization from the ground up.  

Since moving to Nashville in 2004, Josie's affection for the city has only deepened. Making Nashville home created a space for her to explore her passions both personally and professionally. In her free time, Josie enjoys meditation, fitness, painting, traveling, and spending time with her family.

In the early stages of her career, Josie embarked on a creative journey in the world of interior design, specializing in unique and artistic specialty paint finishes. As an artist, her passion for design and creativity led her to carve a niche for herself in the industry. Driven by a desire for entrepreneurship, Josie eventually decided to start her own business. For a decade, she poured her heart and soul into her projects, transforming countless spaces into breathtaking works of art.  

After working in the creative world, Josie spent the next four years working in operations in both logistics and healthcare. Each role enabled her to understand and address the unique challenges and needs of both sectors. This experience only enhanced her desire to lead the charge of being an innovator in creating positive change in the workplace. 

  

Josie has played a pivotal role in our incredible journey of growth, bringing her exceptional leadership and experience to the forefront.  Her enthusiasm for the team and knack for managing the intricacies of the design process while optimizing operational efficiency are truly unique skill sets.
