Why we’re here

Our mission is to solve the opioid crisis and repair the communities we serve by providing addiction treatment that works.® We were founded in 2015 by Joe Bond in response to the growing opioid epidemic in our community. Cedar exists to reach people struggling with substance use disorder and offer effective, evidence-based treatment. We believe in meeting people where they are, no matter what. That means that we never use “tough love” or a “3 strikes” rule.

Our pledge to you:

To help you feel better, get better and stay better within a safe non-judgmental community.

Who are you seeking help for?

Individualized treatment that works

At Cedar Recovery, we offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), an evidence-based approach to care designed to support our patients on their path to lasting recovery. We prescribe medications like Suboxone (buprenorphine) that are proven to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, making it easier to focus on recovery.

We can treat you if you are…
  • Struggling with Opioid misuse
  • Seeking outpatient treatment
  • A resident of Tennessee or Virginia

We work with most major insurance providers

We understand out of pocket cost is an important factor when looking for treatment. We accept most major insurance plans, self-pay, and provide funding through grants when available.

*Payment may be dependent on specific policy

For many people struggling with opioid misuse, Cedar can offer effective treatment options. For those who do not qualify for any of Cedar’s services, we will make a referral to a trusted treatment provider in your community. At your initial visit, you can discuss your situation and evaluate options with the doctor and the therapist.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a proven, evidence-based approach to treating addiction. MAT helps reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, which can make it easier to focus on recovery. At Cedar Recovery, we offer MAT as part of a personalized, comprehensive approach to care, designed to support our patients on their path to lasting recovery.

We have 8 locations across Middle and East Tennessee. If you live in Tennessee, but not in close proximity to our clinics, we offer telehealth addiction treatment through Studio Health, a program powered by Cedar Recovery. Learn more here and see if you’re eligible.

Our knowledge base has a variety of articles on opioid misuse and our approach to recovery. Visit our resources to search specific questions and concerns to learn more.

We accept most major insurance plans, including TennCare, Medicare, most commercial plans, and more. Click here to see if your insurance is eligible.

If you do not have insurance and meet income requirements, you may be eligible to receive free care and medication under our grant program. Contact us to apply.

Our therapists are trained in addiction treatment, with unique skills and experience to help you. At your first visit, you will complete an assessment with a therapist to evaluate your needs and set goals for your recovery. Next, you will join a group of other people in recovery to build a supportive and safe community. We also offer individual therapy and recovery support services to help you with your needs such as financial assistance, housing, transportation, food assistance, and more.

The length of treatment on Suboxone (buprenorphine) varies for each person, but our physicians know that every patient is different and believe in treating the patient as long as needed to be set up for a successful long-term recovery. At your first visit, you will set a plan with your medical provider. If you want to set a goal to taper off of your medication, you can discuss that with them at that time.

We also offer mental health services to many of our patients, treating anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues that may complicate the recovery process. We only prescribe non-controlled medications like SSRIs that are effective for most people (not benzodiazepines or other controlled substances). Similar to Suboxone (buprenorphine), the length of time on these medications varies by patient.

You can make an appointment online and our team will reach out to you.
