Our Values
We believe that people get better when they feel that they belong and matter. That's why we love unconditionally. We wake up every day excited to go to work because we have the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in our community and in the lives of the people we serve. That starts with unconditional love- to our patients, coworkers, and our community.
- We meet people where they are- no matter what.
- Long-term recovery is our ultimate goal.
- We don't give up on patients. "Tough love" and "3 strikes" are not a part of the Cedar Way.
Our second value is forgiving habitually. No one is perfect, and many people require forgiveness. We believe in progress, not perfection. We extend grace every day, because we believe that's what we need to do to give our patients the greatest chance at long-term recovery.
- There are many paths to recovery. We want to help our patients find the path that is right for them.
- Recovery is more than abstinence. We empower our patients to deal with life on life’s terms.
- Urine drug screening is a tool to guide treatment, not a means of punishment.
Finally, we commit to demonstrating mercy. More than just forgiving people, we strive to be merciful- to act out empathy in our every day lives. We understand that writing our values down is one thing- acting them out is the challenge we accept every day at work.
- At first, showing up is enough.
- Patients progress with encouragement and love, and sometimes they require a level of care we do not offer.
- Words kill. We do not use derogatory or demeaning language when talking to or about our patients.
