Meet Cedar Recovery’s Compliance Director, Sara Gregory. Sara is a licensed therapist who joined Cedar in 2020. She met Cedar Recovery's CEO, Joe Bond and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Stephen Loyd while working as a clinical auditor for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs and felt right at home with Cedar’s mission to meet people where they are.

Sara brings a unique perspective to Cedar Recovery from her past work in a variety of settings to include state government, a hospital system, and a managed care organization. She earned her Master of Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2014.

Sara is passionate about working in substance use treatment based off her earliest work experience in the foster care system. She noticed the isolation numbing with substances causes and how difficult the journey to recovery is when people try to do it “on their own”. She is confident that addiction is not a moral failure and wants to support patients in evidence-based treatment, especially one that is trauma informed.

Sara has experienced personal transformation by engaging in her own trauma focused therapy. This fuels her compassion and advocacy for the patients Cedar Recovery serves.

In addition to compliance work at Cedar Recovery, Sara provides clinical supervision to social workers working to become LCSWs and works individually with patients in a small private practice. When she is not working, Sara enjoys spending time with her family as well as watching live music, traveling, and baking.
