At Cedar Recovery Knoxville East, our approach is all about using proven methods to help people beat addiction. We combine medication-assisted treatment, with medications like suboxone, and therapy to make sure everyone gets the care they need. Cedar Recovery’s main goal is to fight the opioid crisis and help people feel better so they can get better and stay better. Cedar Recovery takes care of addiction from every angle, so people can have a healthier and happier life.

Understanding Suboxone Treatment

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a comprehensive strategy for combating opioid use disorder, merging medications like Suboxone (buprenorphine) with behavioral therapies. MAT acknowledges that addiction alters the brain's biochemistry, making it challenging to quit opioids abruptly. It is grounded in evidence and provides a more feasible path to recovery than attempting to quit suddenly. Suboxone blocks opioid receptors in the brain, diminishing cravings and preventing a "high" from opioids, aiding in the management of withdrawal symptoms. MAT combines medication with therapy, addressing past trauma, and enhancing treatment effectiveness, making it a valuable approach for sustainable recovery.
