I didn’t feel like I could let anybody know and I felt like I would lose everything that I had. I felt like everything I had worked for my whole life would just go away. When I was struggling with addiction, I didn’t know there were people who could help me. If you are an individual struggling with addiction, I’d ask you to take some time and think about what it would be like to not have to use everyday. What would life look and feel like? I would then ask them to step out, have courage, walk through the fear, and ask for help. This is what I did, and I did it blindly. I had no idea what the future held, but I knew the pathway that I was on was not good. I knew my life wasn’t going to improve, so I decided to do something differently.
