Trent Hughes is the Chief Clinical Officer at Cedar Recovery and led the development of the counseling program for treatment. He has been working as a therapist in the field of addiction for 10 years. Trent specializes in addiction and trauma and is a trained therapist in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). He received his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University and he is currently completing his PhD in Clinical Counseling in Teaching and Supervision at Trevecca. Trent has years of experience working in the 12-Step model of addiction where he provided treatment through inpatient and intensive outpatient services (IOP) for substance abuse individuals and their families. He is an innovator and a leading therapist in the field of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and counseling. Trent is also an advocate and recognized speaker on the benefits of MAT when utilizing evidenced-based counseling strategies.
